Description
A four page newspaper describing the events related to the social groups and athletic clubs of the Fisk Tire Company for the week of June 4, 1920. The big news on page one this week is about the big plans for the July 4th celebration at Fisk Park. Festivities include a Red Tops baseball game, a track meet and a mammoth field day. Also, progress on the tennis courts continues. The Red Tops will play the Worcester Graton & Knights. The formation of an interdepartmental baseball league is advancing. And, Gertrude Lavalee has married Henry Gingras at the Church of the Nativity in Willimansett. Stories on page two include a piece on the Truckers baseball team win over the flashy Electricians team; The Red Tops drop their first home game and Alex Hackney promotes safety in the 4C Tire Room. Many employee notes fill the rest of the page. The Industrial League season began slowly for the Fisk team, and the page three story has all the details. Also, on page three is a story about the Nimrods holiday shoot at Fisk Park and a photograph of Mabel Peck, Irene Musante, May Whalen and Audry Rosenburg of the Purchasing Department. On page 4 the Nolan families announce their latest feud on the baseball field; Marty Conroy retells an amusing baseball tale; the Traffic department gets a team ready for all challengers and sign-ups for the women's swim class have opened up.
