The subject is turned to the right side of the frame and looking at the camera. He is holding a clarinet in his hands and it is resting on his leg. Soft light illuminates most of the face. The subject is wearing a checkered jacket with a white shirt and a dark striped tie. Writing on the bottom right of the print says "Bob '38."
