Got Overdue Books?

Late summer reading books? Books you meant to return but haven’t gotten around to it?

Return a late Young Adult book to any teen program at the Chicopee Public Library – Friday Afternoons, Harry Potter movies, Anime Club, anything that’s on the schedule for teens through our October 22 Teen Read Week Event – and get your fines waived on that item.

If your library card has been blocked due to late fees, work towards clearing it up.  Your card gives you access to the library’s Internet computers, as well as our collections of books, audiobooks, movies, music, etc.  It’s a new school year, time to start fresh with your library card.

Fall Events for Teens

There’s always something happening for teens on Friday afternoons from 2:30-4. Video games! Teen Lounge!  Crafts and more!  And starting in mid- October, we’ll be showing all six Harry Potter Movies in anticipation of the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Check out the newly updated Teen Events page for the full schedule.

Don’t forget to visit us on Facebook.  Prizes will be awarded when we reach 100 fans!

September Events

As many of you are probably beginning to plan for going back to school, I’m trying to plan ahead for fall.
Here is what I have added to the September calendar so far:
Video Games – Friday Afternoons 2:30 – 4, 9/3, 9/17
Anime Club – First Meeting September 16 2:30 – 4
Teen Advisory Board – First Meeting September 23 3:30-4:30

Meeting times and schedule for Anime Club and Teen Advisory Board are subject to change based on the availability of people who want to participate.  If you are interested in either of these activities, but can’t make the first meeting, send me an email: edaly@cwmars.org

You can also find out when things are happening by checking this website’s Events Page. Or our events listing on Facebook.

Welcome to the New Teen Spot Website

Hi! Welcome to the new Teen Spot @ Chicopee Public Library website.  We’ve changed things up a bit so the site looks more like a blog, and like a blog, it will be regularly updated with new content about books, media, and things that are happening at the library for teens.  So watch this space!

You can also browse the catalog for books and more, access our CLIC databases and homework help links (coming soon), check out our Teen events, and navigate to the Chicopee Public Library homepage.

We’re also on Facebook, with a separate Chicopee YA department page for teens.  Friend us to find out what’s happening at the library for you.

Questions? Comments? What else would you like to see on this site? Email your friendly neighborhood Young Adult Librarian, Erin Daly at edaly@cwmars.org

You can check out Scratch for yourself here.
